Your team[edit]

Just curious, who are 'your team'? --Alessio 22:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

They're my friends who bought the game together. Most of our KF time was spent together because pubs generally suck. If you have a microphone and Ventrilo, would you want to get some good Long/Suicidal games together? —Weldindisdowa 22:50, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Dunno, I might show you up :L:L:L:L. Nah, I'd drag you guys down, I'm far more at home... well in a pub really >.< I might take you up on your offer sometime, but I think I need some practice soloing some hard games first XD
Don't worry about it; we're not pro or anything. ;) —Weldindisdowa 23:01, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Handcannon calibre[edit]

That handcannon isn't really a 50 cal, when you playing some custom map, when you picking up a handcannon ammo, it said ".44 caliber" , the voice actor also mistake it as 50 cal. --EricFong 10:09, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

The ".44 caliber" output is the result of a mistake by the author of a third-party map. If I made a map that contains handcannon ammo and I call them ".22 rounds", it wouldn't make it a fact. The official script should take precedence over third-party content anyway. —Weldindisdowa 11:53, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Ad bots[edit]

So, who runs this wiki? Like, I'm asking b/c you could use some new extensions, like possibly AbuseFilter or CheckUser to help fight the ad bots. --JonTheMon 13:44, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

User:J03 runs the site. Thanks for the suggestions; I will see if I can contact him and have him install the extensions. —Weldindisdowa T/C 16:37, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
You could also try placing a captcha app for the new user signup page. --GrammarCommunist 15:40, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately only J03 can do that. —Weldindisdowa T/C 20:32, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Hello[edit]

Thanks for contributing to the wiki. Unfortunately there isn't really a "list of contributors", and I don't have the ability to enable DISPLAYTITLE; only User:J03 does and I haven't seen him online for months. —Weldindisdowa T/C 18:07, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Playing the Game[edit]

Myself and my friend Bukkithead are serious, but relatively newish, players of the game and are working on map completion, and I want to contribute to the wiki (a lot needs 'tidying'). If you need players, then perhaps you could help us with Hard/Suicidal games until our perks are sufficiently progressed and we can play properly together? —ℤombieJake T/C 12:27, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm happy to play with any group that can be coordinated well, but we'd need a private server and VoIP helps a lot. —Weldindisdowa T/C 14:15, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
There are 7 of us, all of whom I or Bukkithead know. Bukkit usually hosts our games, and limits the number of players so that noone unknown can join. We'll look into VoIP since we usually LAN or Skype. I agree and sypmathise with the need to co-ordinate well - aside from explaining new tactics to us, you shouldn't be disappointed. —ℤombieJake T/C 14:55, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

I have a question[edit]

Hello, how can I add russian translation for KF-mod notice template? Maybe you can add something to this and I will add the translation, I just don't wanna screw things up, as I usually do. —Your Nightmare T/C 18:57, 26 August 2011

I've employed LS, but for this template you may want to understand how #switch and #ifeq work (documentation here). —Weldindisdowa T/C 23:41, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, it works. Yesterday, I fixed main page error by Pooh for dinner. I don't blame him, because I screwed a lot of things when I started my first edition, it was Fleshpound/ru. About switches, good to know, I will use it now if it necessary, but this time I avoided it. BTW, what should I do to prevent my articles from deletion? I saw various reasons, like "very little content" or "not translated" —Your Nightmare T/C 9:32, 27 August 2011

Thanks for fixing his errors. The only "Russian" articles I recall deleting were by Kaldun and Pyro because they created multiple articles that were either literally copies of the English articles or comprised of a single line of content. What you're doing is fine. —Weldindisdowa T/C 08:32, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

I am trying ;) —Your Nightmare T/C 12:59, 27 August 2011

Here came the trouble maker[edit]

Hi, this is pooh for dinner, and came with new troubles and questions. I'm trying to understand how the articles are made and moves. Anyway, it's quite difficult for me... Oh, here are my questions

1. While I was translating the Fleshound page, I found out that the table from headhealth was unable to change. (I'm trying to translate Eng to Kor remaining the other templates and stuffs.) See http://kf-wiki.com/index.php?title=%ED%94%8C%EB%9E%98%EC%89%AC_%ED%8C%8C%EC%9A%B4%EB%93%9C&action=edit&section=18 the problematic part is The base hit points of the Weldindisdowa's head is 700; its total health on normal with one player, and for every additional player 210 hit points is added. This figure is then multiplied by 0.5 on beginner, 1 on normal, 1.35 on hard, 1.55 for suicidal, and 1.75 for hell on earth.

Players Beginner Normal Hard Suicidal Hell on Earth
1 350 700 945 1085 1225
2 455 910 1229 1411 1593
3 560 1120 1512 1736 1960
4 665 1330 1796 2062 2328
5 770 1540 2079 2387 2695
6 875 1750 2363 2713 3063
and how can I access to the chart?

2.I found out that you fixed korean written perks related articles. You changed Language bar to Fleshpound What does this mean? Where can I read this related explanations?

This is funny. After I wrote this, I realized how the template works
Nice. Have you read Killing Floor Wiki:Adding translations? —Weldindisdowa T/C 09:40, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Achievements/ru line up[edit]

Heeey. I can see you still working here. I have a question. Map difficulty categories of Achievements/ru is seem to be a little... "screwed". How can I line them up? — Your Nightmare T/C 13:43, 9 November 2011

Apparently the current format won't look right if any of the divs have a next sibling and a previous sibling that is taller. We'll need to find a better solution for this. —Weldindisdowa T/C 18:34, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Re:[edit]

Sorry for writing here, but I am new at wiki and dont know where to respond your message... I did it here: http://www.kf-wiki.com/wiki/User_talk:JH#More_translation_per_page

A new problem[edit]

Hey. I have created Claymore/ru today and the language bar doesn't work, can you fix it? — Your Nightmare T/C 21:01, 14 December 2011

Fixed. You need to use ASCII characters. —Weldindisdowa T/C 18:06, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Revision at Killing Floor Mod...[edit]

To Weldindisdowa,

I am new here too. But I just wanted to add those information for the KF Mod gamers to let them know of the upcoming KF V3 that is in its BETA stage. Sorry that I seem as if I was ignoring you. I just don't know how to use My Talk.

about LAW edit[edit]

I need to point out that I didn't spit out something wrong by editing the L.A.W page and adding those information. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDuOrToabek http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykqPPeIzoIU These test videos here shows how LAW deals double damage on a headshot. Videos are dated of 2010, but I have a strong feeling that it still works. The Weapon Stat Document I read says the "undetonated" projectile from L.A.W, M32 and M79 have x2.0 headshot multiplier; point blank to 6 meters. Supposedly it's just the impact damage that doubles up on a headshot. I might need some back up on that before I edit the page again thou. Headshot doesn't create a drastical change

As for hitting solid obstacle from VERY close and dying is a thing that happens to me alot(as a level6 demo). I remember I hit the barrel at bioticslab accidentally from close, it surfed along the surface, hit the floor then detonated with a small blast radius which kills me in an instant. May be I should do a little more research on that.

Thank you for your time.--- naksiloth

regarding FP damage multipler table[edit]

hi, i've reverted the concise version of your table to the one made by ip address 86.50.40.8 on 13:49, 21 February 2012 since it is more informative. hope you don't mind.

-Porkchops 09:36, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

erm... something is wrong here? If fleshpounds really take 2.0x damage from M32/M79 nades, then each unperked m32 shot should cause 700 damage to it.
However, on a 6-man normal difficulty server, I've never been able to kill a fleshpound(3375hp) within 6 shots when using M32 as a medic or commando....
I've done a very quick test using a lvl 6 demo on beginner difficulty. The fleshpound did not die when I shot a M79 at its feet....
I believe we should test it a few more times (headshots & bodyshots) before we can finalize the table.
-Porkchops 02:02, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
hiya again, sorry for the late reply. regarding the 6-man normal fp, i guess its because i always aim the 1st 1~2 nades at head/torso & fire the last few at his feet to splash him in case of a miss....
i don't have the mutator to change specimen health, so my test setup is as follow:
1) Started a HOE difficulty listen server on testmap6p
2) Spawn a husk to kill off the extra players until i'm the only one left.
3) Spawn a stationary fleshpound (body health should be 2625) in the small sideroom.
4) Shoot at the fleshpound's head with a m32, wait for smoke to clear, shoot again until the next m32 shot will kill him.
5) Switch to 9mm & shoot at his torso(lights area) until he die.
6) Repeat the test 2 more times to make sure i have consistent results.
7) Repeat steps 3~6 now aiming at the torso(light) & leg (right shin/boot)
final results looks kind of weird to me.... table below:
M32 Damage 9mm Damage # of M32 Shots # of 9mm bodyshots Total Damage
Commando Head 815 17 3 15 2700
Torso 815 17 3 11 2632
Leg 437 17 6 9 2775
Demo Head 1304 17 2 6 2710
Torso 1304 17 2 2 2642
Leg 700 17 3 38 2746
possible explanation is damage falloff due to distance from explosion? i think i need to hunt down that health change mutator & test it out some more when i'm free...
also, if you don't mind, can i dump this entire thread to the fleshpound talk page? maybe the other wiki editors can shed some light on this. --Porkchops 16:11, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

wiki attacked by spammer[edit]

I'm contacting you since you and Balthazar are the only two admins listed as active on the Active Users page. If there's a better way to contact an admin, not sure what it is.

Tonight, between 2-3am UTC on 4 July, a spammer hit the wiki. The majority of malicious edits came from 91.121.27.33. I think I reverted them all.

Elicia3434 also made edits to User:Elicia3434. I think it's spam, but it's a new page and didn't overwrite anything, so I left it be. I don't think there is any way for me to check the IP this user is coming from to see if it matches the above IP. This account also tried to make edits that show up in the AbuseLog (which now that I look at it, shows that 91.121.27.33 has been trying for a while. I guess they just got lucky.)

User Killersk80 was created in the same time period, but does not appear to have made any edits. May not be malicious.

That's all I know. --DarthZeth 04:21, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Summer 2012 new weapons[edit]

Heh heh, was going to edit Weapon_damage_table/other but you beat me to it... :P Anyway, I've created a nice table here User_talk:DarthZeth#Summer_2012_New_Weapons if you want to refer to it. Have tested the base damages using the same setup as last time (the fleshpound torso/leg shot incident), but the following have not been tested:

Headshot multipliers
Reload times
HSG shotgun damage when using support spec.

Anyway, I'm signing off for the day, be back tomorrow to help with the updates. :)

Event maps in Main page[edit]

Hi. Can you add new maps to main page in "Event maps"? (HillBilly and Moonbase). I can't add, this sector crashing when I try to add. Thanks!--ERmac.hdp 19:31, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Tried to get Balthazar to do that since he created all of the Main Page thumbnails, but I'll put in some placeholders if that doesn't happen soon. —Weldindisdowa T/C 16:16, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Template:DISPLAYTITLE[edit]

Does this template working on wiki? This template needs to non-enlish articles and I can't understand why its not working. Can you help me? --ERmac.hdp 17:13, 21 February 2013 (GMT)

The MediaWiki config had to be tweaked for DISPLAYTITLE to work. Also, it's a magic word and not a template. ;) —Weldindisdowa T/C 18:55, 25 February 2013 (GMT)
Yep, its worked! Thanks a lot! I will rework some Russian articles (with this magic word =) ), and some of this articles needs delete. I will give to you links on this articles thats need to be deleted, because I can't delete. I think only admins can delete pages, right? So, anyway, thanks for an assist! --ERmac.hdp 19:05, 25 February 2013 (GMT)
UPD: I marked all unused Russian pages with this template {delete}. All marked pages needs delete.--ERmac.hdp 19:57, 25 February 2013 (GMT)
Yes, special privileges are required to delete pages. Thanks for all the effort you've put into this, but unfortunately you moved the pages the incorrect way, which is copypasting contents of one page and blanking the other (this fragments the revision history). Why are you trying to replace the structure that we already had in place (i.e., <English title>/ru redirecting to the Russian article)? —Weldindisdowa T/C 15:04, 26 February 2013 (GMT)
Contary. There was like you said: <English title>/ru redirecting to another page, with Russian name in URL. It was 2 pages for one article. For exaple - Medic. In russian it was: first article - "medic/ru" with redirecting to secong page - "медик" with a russian name. I want to rework this, because to much redirecting we have. And now, we have one page for one article. You just need delete pages with russian names. --ERmac.hdp 15:10, 26 February 2013 (GMT)
What's wrong with having a redirect for each foreign-language article? Deleting the pages you've marked would result in the loss of virtually all the Russian article history, and force editors to type <Russian title> instead of <Russian title> on the Russian pages. —Weldindisdowa T/C 16:17, 26 February 2013 (GMT)
It's been about 1½ months without any response, so soon I'm going to restore the previous structure unless I'm given a good reason not to. —Weldindisdowa T/C 22:11, 10 April 2013 (BST)

Spambot accounts[edit]

UPD And look at Recent Changes...What going on? Spam bot creats a lot of accounts or what?--ERmac.hdp 21:38, 21 February 2013 (GMT)

erm.. how about deleting(but not blocking) those accounts that are > 6 hrs old but without any edits? The way I see it, most valid users will only create accounts when they have something to edit. New accounts with zero edits are probably created with bots to spam the wiki at a later date. -Porkchops 13:51, 22 February 2013 (GMT)
I've created accounts on wiki's before without editing them, just because I might want to edit them in the future and want to make sure someone doesn't steal my username on there. Also I think we would need bureaucrat privileges to actually delete an account. — Balthazar (T|C) 16:53, 23 February 2013 (GMT)
When the spambots realised that we disabled anonymous talk page creation, they got around that by registering. However, they mostly didn't get past AbuseFilter, so I'll see if I can delete zero-edit accounts that appear in the AbuseLog after setting up some new registration questions. —Weldindisdowa T/C 19:01, 25 February 2013 (GMT)
